Sonnet 2

If the beatings of my heart were anything to go by
No longer do I feel the sizzling passions of romance
For I feel the sizzling hotness of hatred disguised
Then love has bid me bye

For a while you were my bride
You were everything I could think thrice
My soul you could see without fright
I bare boldly my life before you like a file

Yet you chose to damper my thoughts
The bristle was all you could save for me
From your lips my nakedness was exposed

Fate this day has portioned me fraught
To live with it have I chosen for free?

For my love has incurred me reproach.
