Time table

So many drums to beat
so much funs to catch
so little time to bleat
so many bolts to latch

loads of ideas flurry in my brain

so little time to feast on its rain

Tell me more

Listen to our pleas
said anguished hearts

tell us
of the time of the ages
when men were children to their sons
and everyone was mad with the Sun
when the earth was full of mischief
and everybody claimed to be chief

tell us
of the happenings of old!
our tender heart seeks knowledge

The Conscience Prayer

Free your thoughts,
Your innovations become unstoppable
Trade your heart,
Money becomes your chi
Let me not to a depraved mind acquiesce
The depth of its pit I desire to know not!

IMPERFECTION

He aimed at the stars like Ares
bent on shielding off the sun
unfocused, he missed the skies
his arrows went unattended
like the willful son of a bastard father
fettered in penury by a whore

she comes from the depth of loneliness
where she is hurt by the tongue of her fair one
crying to the heavens in blankness
no one was there to oil her glory

TO THE CHILD BRIDE

YOU WILL NOT SEE ME COME!
MY SCENTS YOU WILL NOT SNIFF!
THE THOUGHTS OF MY MIND YOU WILL NOT READ!
NEVER WILL YOU CATCH THE WAVE OF MY DRIFT!

Through hazy days in your scary maze
I have suffered you in your crazy craze
I died in the flurry of your maids
Servants tied me to drown with no trace
I need not describe to you my face
You were there, cunningly amazed

Dozen Haikus to Nature

I
fleet a way the heat
soak, pant the roof so loud ly
mix with dry tears

II
sashay the thin trees
ruffle from root to green hair
chase, whirl in splen dor

III
sizzling the raw meat
glow bright to the sense to smell
jumping from roof to wall

Remember Me

Remember me as the leaves frown to fall
Through hazy days and scary nights
I have not eternity to spend
Remember me as my song you sing
Remember me as my ink you read
Remember me as I depart to final goodbyes

BH

BH

Pouring lead into the pagan crowd
The once euphoric settlements refuse martyrdom
Paean became a mirage receding with brown boots
The lead-thrower evince the reason for unleashing hell

Eviscerate the head; the body becomes a facade of unity
Exile the unity, the chasm of insanity becomes wider
Little wonder the cancerous vile became non-euplastic
Nothing to do but watch akimbo the inevitable end

THE BATTLE OF WORDS

One day, the Sun said to me,
“Shield thyself brother. I am set to unleash my rays”
That day, I said to the Sun,
“Thy powers wane by the flow of the waters”
Under the shades of the ceiling I sought out comfort,
Refreshed by the soothing freedom of cold liquid!

One day, the Earth said to me,
“Protect your feet brother. The Sun is hurting me”
That day, I said to the Earth,
“Weak thou hath against the tantrums of the sky”
Laced on rubber against flesh,
I flew into the air to escape earth’s scorching!

Niger Area: a tale of two worlds

Between two worlds, we float and whine
deprived of simplicity, we groan
amid many, we freeze and moan
hardship forced down our throat like wine

FREE-DOME

Weaned from the cradle of determination
as birthed in the cries of the resolved
you perceive it in the bitter smell of captivity

felt in the words of comfort
smeared in by the loveliest of smiles

a dome full  with future

Sonnet 9

From the gentle breeze of the air
To the violent roar of the sea
From the lush greenness of the field
To the amazing ways of the animals

When the flow of the water astounds
And the meat of the wild terrifies
When the rising of the sun amazes
And the coming of the rainbow spell-bounds

TELL ME MORE

Listen to my pleas,
Said a heart filled with anguish
Will you please tell me more?
I truly wish to know more!

Of the time of the ages,
When men were children to their sons
And everybody is mad with the Sun.
When the earth is full of mischief
And everybody claimed to be chief.

I direly long to know more –
Of the happenings of old!
My tender heart seeks knowledge
I am soaked with yearnings to the edge.

Of the existence of man-eaters
Who we have come to know as man-haters
They sat still in silence
Expecting men to clumber up with malice
They gave them seed of discord…
And waited fretfully for the tree of accord

Oh! What a world you once knew
When the dead came to be new
And the living going on a journey
As pilgrims on a pilgrimage with faces so grim
Only to return with sorrow filled to the brim.

CRIES FROM SOWETO

Ashes to ashes!
Dust to dust!
When shall we stop ubieting our bald sons?
Or when shall we cease nursing our uglified rape victims?
Songs of sorrow has escaped our bruised lips.
The nation’s dirge sobs strong with salty fluids from heavy eyes
Cries became our antiphon before the open earth.
Bruised by sharp boots and crisp whips
Thundered by turgid white lightning and brown khakis
Sortied by the sons of bitches who snogged us.
Carbine-armed nitwits marched down on our villages.
Freedom is coming tomorrow!!!

THE PATH OF HISTORY

Toiling and thumping in the pains of history,
Freedom they say was all we needed.
Rolling and boiling in the bloodbath of slavery
Our kindred always the sacrificial lamb!
It felt so real!
The agonies of war we hear every day,
Echoes and drums of warriors thump the innocent earth,
The clatter of iron deafens the ear of unsuspecting babies,
Mothers flee from the spiral of spoil taking,
Men speed into their huts to gather weapons,
It's time for war!
The end is always for the bravest,
Slavery awaits the feeble,
Women and children cry for their fate,
Warriors rejoice at their catch,
Warlords happy for the white man’s mirror and gun!

The Eldoramic Dream

I dreamt of days of flowers
Flowers at their bloom in spring
Waters flowing down from rocks
Filling the atmosphere with serenity

I dreamt of night with stars
Stars so bright the Sun pales
Silence a mirage none to see
Boisterous activities like that of a market

Sonnet 2

If the beatings of my heart were anything to go by
No longer do I feel the sizzling passions of romance
For I feel the sizzling hotness of hatred disguised
Then love has bid me bye

For a while you were my bride
You were everything I could think thrice
My soul you could see without fright
I bare boldly my life before you like a file

Yet you chose to damper my thoughts
The bristle was all you could save for me
From your lips my nakedness was exposed

Fate this day has portioned me fraught
To live with it have I chosen for free?

For my love has incurred me reproach.

Somebody Help

My spirit free is yet matted
My energy unformed is yet ethereal
My mind yet untapped is still bare
My head yet formless is still torrid

I am the voice of the lost
Flinching for solace in the confines of insanity!
I am the mouth of the dumb
Finding expression in the silence of the siren!
I am the head of the headless
Shouting in the hollows of my sockets!
I am the brain of the nitwits
Bawling for wisdom from the shallows of the deep!
I am nobody calling to everybody for somebody!

Sonnet 1

Sonnet 1
The truth in the words of my love defies time
Even if it is the case that I have no money
Yet the blood in my veins still strive
Your love for me speaks honey

So why do you beset me with worries
And laden my heart with sorrow?
You cut me deep with your stories
Of days and hours left in deep shit burrows

I lay awake with thoughts of hurt
My head aches with worries of neglect
You have hurt me deep like lust
You broke my heart as easy as a trinket

Let it therefore be known this day

That you have lost that which is frail.
